Health Span Bingo

Longevity is a hot topic these days. But the goal isn’t just to live longer (women already do that), it’s to live healthier. To live longer without chronic disease. To live longer being able to do the activities you love. To live longer feeling good. This is called Health Span. In the US, the average life span is 79.0 years. Breaking this down by gender, the life expectancy for women is 81.4 years, while for men it is 76.5 years. On the other hand, the average health span is 64 years. This means Americans experience a 12+-year healthspan-lifespan gap—meaning the average person spends over a decade living with illness or disability and it’s even more if you are a woman.

There are 5 pillars of health that we focus on to increase our health span; sleep, nutrition, exercise, stress management, and social connection. Mid-life is a busy time but it’s the most important time in life to start creating the rest-of-life long habits for the health span we desire. This is why we’ve created Health Span Bingo. The goal is to bring awareness to the pillars and where we might be falling short in our own lives.
